Gary Zurawski, LCSW, CADC, earned his Master’s degree in clinical Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and received his addiction training and degree at Harold Washington College, Chicago. Mr. Zurawski has experience in both the Addiction and Mental Health fields. In addition to working as an Addiction Counselor for Advocate Medical Group, Mr. Zurawski has worked in the Psychiatric Day Hospital and inpatient psychiatric units at Lutheran General Hospital.
In addition to his clinical experience Mr. Zurawski brings real life experience from the private sector where he worked many years in the hospitality industry in a variety of guest centered positions. Mr. Zurawski brings energy and passion to his work that combines proven abstinence based techniques with innovative new strategies specifically targeted for emerging adults with coexisting addiction and dual disorders issues. A key focus of this strategy will be exploring the relation between shame, deception and substance abuse.
