Originally from Taiwan, Chia-Ching received her B.S. in Physical Therapy and Assistive Technology from National Yang-Ming University in 2010 and worked as a registered physical therapist for 2 years. In 2012, she joined an exchange program to JAMK University in Jyväskylä, Finland. In Jyväskylä, Chia-Ching worked in a neurological rehabilitation hospital treating patients in acute and sub-acute stages, and conducted her independent research study on the treatment outcomes of riding therapy for children with autism and cerebellar ataxia.
In 2018, Chia-Ching earned her M.S. in Neurobiology from Northwestern University. Her labwork focuses on visual system and relevant brain development.
Chia-Ching’s experiences from clinical to academic neuroscience research have developed her organizational and critical-thinking skills in her work. During her free time, she enjoys dancing, reading, photographing, and travelling.
