Caroline Onischak MSN APRN PMHNP-BC

Caroline Onischak MSN APRN PMHNP-BC is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who graduated with honors from the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, IL with her Masters of Science in Nursing. She has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Resurrection University in Chicago, IL and earned a dual Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is deeply committed to the study of trauma, developmental neurobiology and the mind-body connection. She has trained with renowned trauma and addiction expert Dr. Gabor Mate and also spent a year training with the psychiatric consultation-liaison team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She has presented at the Illinois Annual Conference of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and at the Midwest Conference of the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses on topics such as neuroplasticity, medical mimics of psychiatric disorders and the impact of childhood trauma on medical and psychiatric illness. She has experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has worked both in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings, treating patients across the lifespan, from children to adolescent, to adult and geriatric patients. She is dedicated to the compassionate care of patients with mental health issues.
